Canada Post Strike – Impact on Municipal Mail Delivery

Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, regular mail services have been disrupted, impacting the delivery of important municipal correspondence, including:

• Utility bills and notices
• Development Permit decisions and notices
• Public Hearing notices
• Subdivision Notices
• Business and Animal Licenses
• Any other municipal communications typically sent by mail

 

How to Stay Informed:

We encourage residents and businesses to use the following methods to stay up to date during the strike:

1. Utility or Tax Notices: Contact the Utility and Taxation Clerk at 403-563-2203 to send an electronic copy of your bill or notice or arrange to have one picked up at 8502 19 Avenue, Coleman. Utility and Tax bills can be made in person at the municipal office or online through our online portal.  
2. Development Applications and Permits: All Development Permits and/or Notices of Decision for Development Permits will be posted here: Development Permit Notification Advertisements. If you would like to view the notices, they can be sent electronically or picked up in person at 8502 19 Avenue, Coleman. Contact the Development Office directly at 403-562-8834 or development@crowsnestpass.com. 
3. Public Hearing Notices: All Public Hearing Notifications will be posted here: Public Hearing Notices. Where possible, these will be emailed to the last known email filed with the municipality or hand delivered if you have not chosen email as a form of communication. 4. Notices of Subdivision Applications: All subdivision application notices will be posted in the local newspaper. 
5. Business and Animal Licenses: Municipal business licenses for 2025 are available and must be paid for buy January 31, 2025. You can request a copy of your 2025 invoice in person at the municipal office, by email or by fax. Please call the office at 403-562-8833 to request via email or fax. Animal licenses for 2025 are now available for purchase at the municipal office in Coleman. We will not be mailing reminder notices.
